We are seeking a skilled and committed Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the Neurodevelopmental Pathway within the CAMHS team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a clinician with proven CAMHS and neurodevelopmental experience to lead in a specialist role dedicated to supporting children and young people with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD.
About the Role
This role presents an exciting opportunity to help shape and develop services in line with national priorities, including the Transforming Care Agenda and Children and Young People's IAPT.
The successful candidate will:
- Deliver expert assessment and treatment of children with neurodevelopmental conditions
- Provide clinical leadership in the neurodevelopmental pathway
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Play a key role in quality improvement and service transformation projects
- Engage with families, schools, and external agencies to deliver holistic care
- Be accountable to the Medical Director and Clinical Director
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments, formulate diagnoses, and manage treatment for children and families
- Undertake clinical administrative duties in line with high standards of care
- Lead MDT meetings and ensure effective case allocation based on skills within the team
- Support co-working across CAMHS, social care, and education partners
- Actively contribute to service development and quality improvement (QI) initiatives
- Participate in and support the ongoing transformation of local CAMHS services
Essential Criteria
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Recent, demonstrable experience working in CAMHS
- Right to work in the UK (British/EU passport or valid share code)
