We are looking for experienced Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers (MEP / Building Services) to join a major HS2 Integrated Project Team (BBV IPT) supporting the delivery of tunnel portal buildings and pumping station infrastructure. This is a client-side assurance role, focused on overseeing contractor delivery rather than hands-on design. You will play a key part in ensuring complex building services systems are fully integrated, compliant, and delivered to programme.

What you will be doing:

  • Acting as a client-side Project Engineer within the HS2 BBV IPT team
  • Overseeing contractor design assurance for building services packages
  • Supporting delivery across tunnel portals and pumping station assets
  • Reviewing integration of key systems:
    • Electrical power distribution
    • Lighting systems
    • HVAC
    • Mechanical systems
    • Fire and life safety systems
  • Ensuring contractor self-assurance processes are robust and compliant
  • Monitoring design maturity and system integration across disciplines
  • Working closely with contractors, designers, and project stakeholders
  • Supporting coordination meetings and site visits
  • Helping ensure smooth transition from design into construction and delivery

What we are looking for:

  • Background in MEP / Building Services (electrical or mechanical bias)
  • Experience in project engineering, assurance, or client-side roles
  • Strong understanding of integrated building services systems
  • Experience working on large infrastructure or complex building projects
  • Confident reviewing technical documentation and contractor deliverables
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced environment
