As an AI Engineer at Avanade, you will design, build, and deliver advanced agentic AI solutions using the latest Microsoft technologies. Working directly with clients, you will help solve complex business problems by applying strong engineering practices, deep Microsoft platform expertise, and a pragmatic approach to delivering measurable outcomes. This is a hands-on, client-facing engineering role, combining AI engineering, solution design, and delivery excellence. You will work as part of multi-disciplinary teams to translate ambiguity into secure, scalable, and production-ready AI solutions.
Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to understand business challenges and identify opportunities where agentic AI can drive meaningful value.
- Design, develop, and deploy AI agents using the latest Microsoft technologies (including Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, and supporting Azure AI and Power Platform services).
- Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems, data sources, and workflows using Microsoft Power Platform and Azure services.
- Contribute to solution and technical design, ensuring alignment with security, governance, scalability, and operational standards.
- Participate in client workshops, technical discussions, and solution shaping sessions.
- Support pre-sales activities when required through technical input, solution design, and proof-of-concept development.
- Develop reusable assets, patterns, and accelerators that strengthen Avanade's AI and automation capabilities.
- Stay current with emerging Microsoft AI technologies and contribute to internal AI & Data communities of practice.
Required Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience delivering solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio.
- Microsoft certifications in AI, Power Platform, or Azure (desirable).
- Awareness of governance, security, and responsible AI considerations in enterprise environments.
- Experience working in consulting or professional services organisations.
- Familiarity with Azure services commonly used in AI solutions, such as Azure OpenAI, Functions, Logic Apps, and API Management.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse).
- Experience working with Azure AI Foundry or equivalent AI development capabilities on Azure.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong engineering mindset with the ability to build, test, deploy, and support production-grade solutions.
- Understanding of agentic AI concepts, orchestration patterns, and multi-agent solutions.
- Experience designing and delivering AI-driven or automation solutions in a client-facing environment.
- Strong expertise in prompt engineering, including optimisation, testing, evaluation, and guardrail design.
