Litigation Director & Counsel – London (Hybrid)A leading global financial services institution is seeking an experienced litigation lawyer to join its EMEA Legal team as Litigation Director & Counsel.Working within the organisation’s Litigation & Investigations function, this role will focus on managing a wide range of contentious consumer and financial services matters across the UK and broader EMEA region. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you will provide strategic legal advice on litigation, regulatory and reputational risks, and oversee significant case portfolios.Key responsibilities:Lead on UK consumer litigation matters including claims under the Consumer Credit Act, financial regulatory disputes, fraud claims and data/privacy issuesAdvise senior stakeholders on litigation strategy, risk mitigation and dispute resolution approachesManage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions and ensure cost-effective delivery of adviceProvide legal input into consumer-facing contracts, particularly dispute resolution, liability and jurisdictional clausesDeliver training to business and legal colleagues on consumer litigation, regulatory developments and risk awarenessSupervise junior lawyers and paralegals, and contribute to knowledge management and process improvementsAbout you:England & Wales qualified solicitor with extensive litigation experience (minimum 7–10 PQE) gained in-house at a major financial institution or top law firmStrong knowledge of consumer credit litigation, FCA Handbook (CONC), and financial services disputesTrack record of managing complex, high-value litigation and advising senior business leadersExperience working across jurisdictions and managing external counsel relationshipsExcellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to deliver concise advice under pressureThe package:Competitive base salary plus performance bonusComprehensive benefits and hybrid working modelExcellent scope for development and exposure at senior leadership level
