About the Role:We are seeking a committed, experienced, and motivated Supervising Senior Caseworker to join our specialist Immigration and newly formed Legal Aid team. This senior-level position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services across our immigration practice. You will report directly to the Department Director and be responsible for managing your own complex immigration caseload while supervising, developing, and supporting a team of lawyers, and caseworkers.This is a dynamic role that blends technical legal expertise, mentoring, and operational oversight. You’ll provide supervision, manage legal risk, and contribute to life-changing outcomes for clients, all while being supported by a forward-thinking, collaborative team.Main Responsibilities of the Role:Provide technical leadership and direct line management to caseworkers, trainees, and solicitors.Manage a portfolio of Legal Aid and private immigration matters including:Asylum, human rights, and detention work; Victims of trafficking and torture; Entry clearance appeals, judicial reviews, and tribunal cases.Oversee case allocation and capacity planning across the department.Prepare and manage Legal Aid funding applications and related documentation.Draft high-quality legal documents (witness statements, representations, bundles).Attend conferences, hearings, and court as required.Deliver internal training, support supervision standards, and ensure legal quality across the team.Contribute to business development, networking, and firm marketing initiatives.Key Skills Required:Practicing Certificate (clean and valid) and IAAS Level 2 Senior Caseworker accreditation (required at time of application).Proven supervisory experience and the ability to manage caseworker performance and KPIs.Excellent knowledge of immigration, asylum, detention, and public law work.Strong working knowledge of Legal Aid funding, billing, and compliance processes.Exceptional client care skills, particularly when working with vulnerable individuals.A collaborative and proactive leadership style with a commitment to training and mentoring.Solid advocacy experience is an advantage.Strong IT and case management system proficiency.Desirable:Previous experience of advocacy in immigration tribunals.Experience in private client immigration and/or adoption-related matters.Familiarity with internal audit processes, capacity reporting, and team performance monitoring.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timeSalary: Up to £46,000.00 per yearExpected hours: 20 – 40 per weekBenefits:Flexi-timeWork from home
