The Advocate Group are proud to be working in partnership with an exciting and fast-growing food brand to recruit a Technical Services Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technical professional to join a dynamic FMCG business and play a key role in ensuring product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across a diverse product portfolio. Working closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and retail customers, you will help maintain the highest standards across all technical and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own technical compliance across the full product portfolio
  • Manage retailer technical relationships and customer requirements
  • Ensure supplier approval processes are robust, compliant, and effectively maintained
  • Oversee product specifications, artwork approvals, and regulatory sign-off
  • Lead responses to quality issues, complaints, and product withdrawals/recalls where required
  • Monitor and interpret changes in UK and EU food legislation
  • Conduct supplier audits and ensure BRCGS and food safety standards are maintained
  • Drive continuous improvement across quality systems and technical processes

About You

  • Degree qualified in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years' experience within a technical or quality role in FMCG, food manufacturing, or food distribution
  • Strong understanding of UK retailer technical standards and compliance requirements
  • Experience conducting audits including BRCGS, retailer, or third-party audits
  • Solid knowledge of UK/EU food legislation and labelling regulations
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
  • Confident communicator capable of building effective retailer and supplier relationships
  • Proactive and solutions-focused with a strong approach to risk management
