We're hiring on behalf of a small, product-focused insurtech - a digital-first insurance business with a tight-knit engineering team. This is a growth hire. The platform is solid; they just need more hands on the work that keeps it that way: dependency updates, CI/CD health, repo tooling, security patches, and internal scripting - alongside normal product feature work.
The stack:
- Node.js
- TypeScript
- React
- MongoDB
- MySQL
- AWS (Lambda, RDS)
Roughly 80% backend, 20% frontend.
You’ll need:
- 3+ years in a full-stack or backend-leaning production environment
- Strong TypeScript and Node
- Comfort maintaining existing codebases, not just greenfield work
- CI/CD, repo tooling, scripting experience
- Pragmatic, ownership-driven - you spot things that need fixing and fix them
- MongoDB or AWS Lambda experience is a plus
The role:
- Fully remote (UK)
- 2–3 in-person team meetups per year
- £60,000–£70,000 · no equity or bonus

- 1hr technical (live coding)
- 30-min meet the team
