We're supporting a growing engineering and infrastructure business who are looking to appoint an Estimator to support the continued growth of their commercial Solar PV division. This role will focus on pricing and supporting the delivery of commercial rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects, working closely with sales, engineering, pre-construction, and delivery teams to develop accurate and commercially competitive proposals.

The ideal person will have experience within commercial solar, electrical infrastructure, or wider renewable energy projects, with a strong understanding of project costing, quotations, and technical coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce accurate cost estimates and proposals for commercial Solar PV projects
  • Review drawings, technical specifications, and client requirements
  • Support feasibility assessments and pre-construction activities
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams to obtain pricing and technical information
  • Prepare tender submissions, quotations, and project cost breakdowns
  • Support value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities where possible
  • Assist with project handovers into delivery teams following contract award
  • Maintain awareness of equipment pricing, market trends, and supply chain changes
What They’re Looking For:
  • Experience estimating within commercial Solar PV, electrical, utilities, or renewable energy projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of commercial rooftop and/or ground-mounted Solar PV systems
  • Experience working with subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with wider electrical infrastructure or renewable energy projects would be beneficial
