Senior Backend Engineer – Mobile - Fully Remote Anywhere in UK & Europe! £115,000

I'm working with a high-growth, consumer-facing mobile platform used by millions globally, who are building out a brand new monetisation engineering function. They've recently evolved into a more mature, product-led engineering organisation with dedicated squads aligned to Product, and are now hiring a backend engineer to sit at the centre of how they generate revenue.

This is a high-impact role focused on building and scaling the systems behind subscriptions, payments and pricing - owning the reliability and performance of the monetisation funnel end-to-end.

What you'll be doing:

  • Designing and building scalable backend systems that power subscriptions, billing and pricing logic
  • Owning the performance, reliability and correctness of revenue-critical systems
  • Working closely with Product and Data to support experimentation, analytics and growth initiatives
  • Helping shape how monetisation is built as the business continues to scale

Tech stack:

  • Node.js
  • TypeScript
  • AWS
  • DynamoDB

What they're looking for:

  • Strong backend engineering experience in high-scale, consumer-facing products
  • Experience working on business-critical systems (payments, subscriptions, or similar high-throughput environments)
  • Ability to work closely with Product Managers, challenge where needed and prioritise effectively
  • Strong communication skills and a product mindset

Nice to have:

  • Experience with in-app purchases or subscription platforms
  • Background in mobile-first products
  • Exposure to analytics, experimentation or feature flagging systems

The setup:

  • Fully remote, distributed team
  • Mature squad structure with strong engineering leadership
  • Opportunity to take ownership in a newly formed team with clear progression into leadership
