Lead Cloud Architect Responsibilities

  • Lead the Cloud Centre of Excellence, setting direction for cloud platform architecture and adoption
  • Design, implement and scale hybrid and multi-cloud environments across the business
  • Define and maintain cloud standards for automation, monitoring, security, and cost-efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Security, SRE, and Networking) to deliver resilient and compliant cloud infrastructure
  • Drive technical leadership and act as a key advisor on cloud architecture across departments
  • Promote continuous improvement and foster a culture of knowledge sharing
  • Advocate for cloud-native tools, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices
  • Provide mentorship and support to cloud engineers across multiple locations

Lead Cloud Architect Requirements

  • Significant experience in leading cloud engineering initiatives or running a Cloud Centre of Excellence
  • Deep expertise in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and private cloud architecture; Oracle Cloud experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of hybrid networking (e.g. VPCs, BGP, DNS, hybrid connectivity)
  • Proficient in cloud security including IAM, encryption, compliance, and firewall configuration
  • Strong architectural design skills with a focus on resilience, scalability, and cost optimisation
  • Agile mindset with experience in CI/CD, automation, and iterative delivery
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A collaborative approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
