Laboratory Support AssociateOxfordPermanent, start ASAPMon-Fri, 8.00 – 16.30, onsite Competitive salary, depending on skills, background and experience relevant to the roleThis is a key role in which you will be called upon to provide quality and timely support to the Lab Operations of a busy technical R&D facility based in Oxford.Core role responsibilities:Management of the Lab inventory in all the onsite storage facilities (consumables, lab equipment and machinery, both owned and vendor managed) which could include liquid nitrogen, other gases, reagents and solventsRegularly conducting Lab walkthroughs to understand any issues around lab safety, security, equipment calibration or other areas that could be improvedPortering of various lab equipment and supplies from storage to the BenchWaste management, including relevant disposal documentationCleaning of lab equipment as required including glassware, autoclave and sterilisation according to SOPsHealth and safety – conducting risk assessments, checking and recording expiration dates for chemicals, updating and reviewing COSHH documents and supporting with site auditsMaintaining exemplary Lab housekeeping protocolsYour background:You will come from a proven Laboratory Assistant/Technician background, ideally an R&D environment or clean room setting with a good understanding of processes and protocols associated with a research labGood working knowledge of EH&S compliance and crisis management practices (NEBOSH or working towards a EH&S qualification would be advantageous)Previous experience in working with a laboratory asset management system would be usefulPolite and professional communication skills, resilience and a can-do approach is very importantCollaborative and efficient by nature – you will be the onsite go-to person for all things Laboratory in the first instance and take pride in your problem-solving skillsIf the above sounds like your next Lab Associate role, and you can demonstrate the criteria above, then apply here or contact bec.johnston@srgtalent.com for more information.
