The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Production Assistant to join our in-house Editorial Team. This role supports the editorial production workflow to final publication, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of content across a variety of digital formats. The ideal candidate will be a strong multitasker with a keen eye for detail, a basic understanding of editorial standards, and an interest in sports media or publishing. This role offers potential career development into editorial, production management, or content strategy positions, with exposure to multiple stages of the publishing process and opportunities for professional training.
Key Responsibilities
- Editorial Support: Assist editors and reporters in coordinating article production workflows, proofread, fact-check, and perform light copyediting under supervision, maintain editorial style guides and ensure consistent formatting and house style.
- Production Coordination: Manage production schedules and maintain editorial calendars, liaise with writers, editors, designers, and external clients to manage production workflows, assist in preparing article layouts and sourcing imagery and other assets.
- Content Management: Upload and manage digital content in CMS platforms, ensure correct tagging, formatting, and SEO optimisation where applicable, help manage and maintain our premium media subscription product, SportsPro+.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule meetings, take minutes, and manage editorial documentation, support project management tools and reporting systems, project research and information gathering.
About You

- Basic knowledge of WordPress or another Content Management System.
- Previous experience (internship or 1–2 years) in publishing, media, or editorial preferred but not essential.
- An interest in working on a diverse range of editorial responsibilities, with a strong desire to learn and grow within the media industry.
- Familiarity with editorial and production processes in digital and/or print publishing.
- Strong grammar, copywriting and editing skills, with an eye for detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Creativity and a drive to produce high-quality content across all channels.
- Strong data reporting and analytical skills to measure and improve content performance.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills and the ability to build rapport across multiple teams and functions.
- A proactive, self-starter attitude with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
