Our team is looking for an experienced Java developer for their multi-year Disclosure of Interest (DOI) program. This is a hands-on technical role based out of Glasgow. Joining the Global Regulatory Disclosures Team, you will be at the vanguard of the multi-year global renovation program to transform the way the firm reports and manages its equity holdings.
You will join an agile team aiming to deliver software products in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You will actively participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups and other Agile ceremonies. You will work closely with product owners, scrum masters and other team members to refine requirements, participate in various phases of the software development lifecycle including requirement clarification, system implementation, testing, deployment and post-deployment support.
You will interact with our business stakeholders within both Operations and other areas of the firm; including other engineering groups and production support teams. You will serve as technical support for the Europe and Asia Operations team responsible for covering multiple regulatory reporting obligations and other monitoring, as in the Amended Transparency Directive, implemented in 40+ countries. Working on the DOI program is a unique window into the enterprise-wide array of businesses that comprise our organisation. The successful candidate is expected to have effective communication skills to handle discussions with different systems that DOI is working together with.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Proficient experience in Java and related technologies
- Experience in using common Java frameworks and technologies, particularly Spring, Framework, Angular, Spark
- Experience on web services, particularly REST
- Familiar with testing methodologies including unit test, integration test and regression tests
- Strong data analytical skills (SQL)
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired:
- Experience with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Spark and Scala
