Starfish Search are working with a council who are seeking an Interim Property Acquisition Programme Director to lead on the delivery of a large-scale housing acquisition programme. This pivotal role will focus on securing homes at pace, developing sustainable procurement strategies, and driving forward the council’s ambition to expand housing supply. You Will:Lead on the delivery of a property acquisition strategy to secure homes at scale in a highly competitive market.Develop and manage acquisition opportunities, ensuring compliance with housing standards and long-term sustainability.Negotiate with landlords, agents, and developers to secure the best outcomes for the authority.Provide clear financial viability assessments, business cases, and reports to support decision-making.Collaborate with colleagues across the council to align acquisitions with wider housing and community priorities. You Will Have:Proven experience in large-scale property acquisition, within local government, public or private sector. Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to evaluate complex transactions.Knowledge of housing compliance, property standards, and procurement processes.Well-connected within the North West local market, with strong relationships across established networks.The ability to work at pace and deliver high-quality outcomes in a challenging marketplace.This is an interim assignment for 6 months.
