Our client is looking for an outstanding leader to oversee operational delivery across the Council’s largest customer and community facing Directorate. This includes essential services like highways maintenance, parks and open spaces, fleet and transport, environmental health, trading standards, waste collection, street cleaning, and bereavement services. The successful candidate will have extensive operational management of these services within a large city or metropolitan council environment, and have demonstrable experience of strategic leadership, and a track record of successfully driving transformation and modernisation within this context, to ensure services are performing at their best, whilst aligning resources to maximise benefits to taxpayers and residents.
