Freelance Instructional Designer – DevOps & Cloud SME

Start Date: Start of July

End Date: End of September

Duration: 14 working days (across the 3 months)

Location: Remote

Rate: Competitive based on experience (Outside IR35)

Client: Instinct is the UK’s leading digital learning talent provider, catering to a wide range of successful companies across the globe. We are currently working with one of our valued clients who specialises in the creation and improvement of apprenticeship courses for clients in all industries.

About the Role: We’re seeking a freelance Instructional Designer (LD/ID) with subject matter expertise (SME) in Python, DevOps, and cloud computing to create synchronous (live) training content for two technical modules. You’ll work from existing module outlines to build high-quality, instructor-led learning experiences and migrate them into our LMS. This is a short-term, outcome-focused contract ideal for an experienced technical instructional designer who enjoys creating engaging, application-oriented learning content for live delivery.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven subject matter expertise in Python and cloud computing.
  • Experience designing technical DevOps training programs.
  • Strong instructional design background, particularly in synchronous delivery.
  • Skilled in designing instructor-led demonstrations.
  • Hands-on experience in creating Digital Learning content, including content authoring tools and LMS migration.
  • Proficient in building Google Slides presentations with both visuals and detailed speaker notes.
