As an Industry Analyst you will undertake strategic research on topics at the intersection of building operations, real estate performance and digital technologies.Success in the role requires an interest in digital technology and a background in computer science, data centres or mechanical/electrical engineering. The successful candidate will have the ambition to undertake a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research, write high quality written reports and present research findings to client executives.Our analysts benefit from our structured ‘Analyst Training Framework’ which offers 24-months of tailored learning which will equip high performers to progress to more senior analyst positions at Verdantix.Salary opportunity is £42K – £48K depending on experience level, plus a very competitive quarterly bonus scheme.This is a hybrid role which requires 3 days a week in the office during probationary period, and will decrease to 2 days upon successful completion.What you’ll be doing…Conducting research projects based on the established portfolio of Verdantix methodologies.Undertaking research interviews with operations, engineering and owners/investors in real estateBuilding quantitative models to size and forecast technology markets.Efficiently writing high-quality research documents in English.Learning how to produce short reports on technology vendors based on technology briefings.Working on consulting projects relating to real estate and building technologies including AI-based analytics, digital twins, predictive maintenance software, IoT platforms, convergence of IT and OT, building digital technology stack, etc.Attending Verdantix events and industry conferences.Developing trusted relationships with Verdantix clients.Supporting marketing efforts by writing blogs and engaging in social media activities.About you…Educated to undergraduate level with a preference for top-tier universities, ideally with a degree in M&E engineering, and computer science.At least 2 years work experience in a business role preferably with exposure to datacentres, building systems engineering or IoT.Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and come up with new ideas.Sufficient quantitative skills and knowledge of Excel to manipulate large data sets and apply basic mathematical concepts.Familiarity with how to produce charts in Excel and figures in PowerPoint.Proven ability to quickly write reports for a business audience.Perfect written English and fluent spoken English.Experience in interviewing senior managers over the phone and in person to collect business information.Exceptional interpersonal communication and team collaboration skills.World class sense of humour.Additional benefits we offer…Competitive salary (with annual review)Performance-driven quarterly bonus schemePension with enhanced employer contributionGenerous holiday entitlement, accruing an extra day with every year worked (local capping applies)Quarterly employee recognition schemeHybrid working option, with the aim of promoting flexibility and work-life balancePrivate medical insurance, including online GP service, mental health support and discounted gym membershipsEnhanced family-friendly benefitsWeekly ‘flexi-hour’ to extend a lunch break or finish early on your day of choiceCycle to work scheme – tax-efficient purchase of a bike, bike accessories, or bothTime off for volunteering when done through our partner OnHand: an app for local volunteering and climate actionMultiple social events throughout the year, including Company Ramble & Sports DayStrong focus on learning and development with career plans for all employeesDog-friendly officeFantastic colleagues with a great sense of humour!Why Verdantix…Since our foundation in 2008, we have been built our company around five values.
