We’re on the search for a talented People Insights Lead – a strategic thinker with a passion for data and storytelling to help us transform how we use people data to make better decisions, build a better colleague experience, and drive better business outcomes.

About the role: This is more than a reporting role – it’s your chance to influence strategy and shape a data-informed culture across a fast-paced, operational business with 16,000+ colleagues. You’ll be the go-to expert for turning complex data into clear, actionable insight that enables our People team and business leaders to make confident, evidence-based decisions.

Working closely with colleagues in People, Finance, Tech and Analytics, you’ll lead strategic insight projects across recruitment, retention, mobility, engagement and more – all while strengthening our people data infrastructure and championing the ethical use of data.

You’ll set the benchmark for excellence – making sure we measure what matters and use those insights to shape smarter people strategy and stronger business decisions. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring others, helping to grow a thriving community of brilliant analysts across the wider team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Partnering strategically with senior stakeholders across the People team and wider business to deliver solutions-focused insights.
  • Leading high-impact people analytics projects, from employee retention and engagement to workforce planning and DEI.
  • Developing powerful dashboards and reporting tools, making insight easy to access and use across the organisation.
  • Championing a data-driven culture, upskilling colleagues, mentoring junior analysts and embedding best-practice data storytelling.
  • Driving data governance and ownership, acting as Process Owner for the Common Data Model (CDM) and collaborating with tech teams to enhance our data infrastructure.
  • Ensuring ethical and responsible data use, aligned to privacy standards and evolving legislation.
  • Improving continuously, responding to user needs and evolving business priorities to keep our insight tools relevant, accurate and trusted.

What we’re looking for: We’re looking for an Insights or Analytics Lead/Manager who can cut through complexity and deliver clear, actionable insights. You’ll bring experience from a large, complex organisation - ideally one with a significant operational or frontline workforce such as logistics, retail, manufacturing, aviation, transport or similar.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong experience in people analytics, insights or strategic HR reporting.
  • Skilled in analysis tools (e.g. Excel, SQL, Python) and visualisation platforms (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Confidence working with large, complex data sets – ideally from systems like Oracle or similar HRIS.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to build credibility quickly with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills – able to translate data into meaningful, practical insight.
  • A passion for learning, mentoring, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll get in return: At Ocado, we believe in a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. You'll find a safe, inclusive and collaborative environment alongside an award-winning recognition programme and benefits designed to help you thrive:

  • 30 days of ‘work from anywhere’ policy.
  • 25 days holiday (rising to 27) plus the option to buy more.
  • Private medical insurance and income protection.
  • Up to 7% employer pension contribution.
  • Enhanced family leave including maternity, paternity, and shared parental leave.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme and interest-free train ticket loans.
  • Free shuttle buses to select sites.
  • 15% discount at Ocado.com plus deals at leading retailers and restaurants.
  • Employee share schemes and life insurance.

We’re an inclusive employer: Ocado Group is an equal opportunities employer. We make every effort to ensure that all potential employees are treated fairly and equally.
