You’ll support the Board and senior leadership team in maintaining robust governance, compliance, and effective risk management arrangements.As Interim Head of Risk, you will:Lead the risk and compliance team, managing the firm’s risk controls, exposures, and reporting directly to the governing body (SMF4 – Chief Risk Officer).Deliver and maintain an effective and robust second line of defence framework for risk and compliance, including SMF16 – Compliance Oversight.Support and, where relevant, deliver the Board Risk Committee workplan.Act as owner of the financial crime risk management framework, ensuring compliance with AML regulations, and serve as SMF17 – Money Laundering Reporting Officer.Act as the firm’s Data Protection Officer (DPO).Provide risk expertise and support to the Board and management to enable delivery of the firm’s strategy and objectives.✅ Ideal Candidate This opportunity will suit an experienced senior risk professional with financial services expertise, ideally from a building society, retail banking, or mortgage lending environment, who is available at short notice and able to work flexibly in a small firm setting.
