This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is looking for a part-time role with strategic impact and variety.Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, the Head of HR will oversee talent, employee relations, performance, engagement, and compliance across our head office and retail locations. The role offers flexibility and autonomy, with scope to shape the function while supporting the wider business as we grow.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic HR LeadershipDevelop and implement a fit-for-purpose people strategy aligned with the business’s commercial and cultural goals.Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team on people matters, organisational design, and workforce planning.Build scalable people frameworks and practices that support a growing, multi-site business.Talent & ResourcingOversee recruitment processes across head office and retail ensuring we hire the right people efficiently.Support hiring managers with role definition, interview process, and candidate experience.Design and manage an onboarding programme that integrates new hires and reflects the company’s values and brand.Performance, Culture & EngagementLead performance review cycles, including the development of practical tools and guidance for managers.Champion a high-performance, high-integrity culture that reflects the values of a heritage brand in a modern business.Drive employee engagement and internal communications initiatives that promote retention and alignment.HR Operations & ComplianceOwn HR policies, procedures, and documentation — ensuring compliance with UK employment law and best practice.Handle employee relations cases with professionalism and sensitivity, including disciplinary, grievance, and absence matters.Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and contracts in collaboration with Finance and external providers.Manage head office administration and coordinate with managed office providerLearning & DevelopmentIdentify skills and leadership development needs and propose targeted, cost-effective L&D initiatives.Support the upskilling of managers and the rollout of any training relevant to new store openings or systems rollouts.Advisory Support for Line ManagersProvide day-to-day HR support and guidance to managers across departments on matters including performance, conduct, and team dynamics.Empower line managers through clear frameworks, training, and templates to handle people matters effectively.Candidate ProfileProven experience in a senior HR leadership role, ideally in a retail, fashion, ecommerce, or fast-paced consumer environment.CIPD qualified (or equivalent), with strong practical knowledge of UK employment law and HR operations.Confident working in a stand-alone or small team setting with full ownership of the HR function.Ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on delivery across the employee lifecycle.Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.A proactive and pragmatic problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial business.What We OfferCompetitive salary (pro-rata)Hybrid working (minimum 1 day per week in our London office. 2 days preferred)25 days holiday + bank holidays (pro-rata)Birthday day off60% staff discountPrivate medical insurance (Vitality)Life AssuranceUp to 7% matched pension contributionAccess to retail, wellbeing & lifestyle discounts
