We are currently partnering with a well renowned and rapidly expanding commercial property management firm to appoint a Director, Head of Facilities Management, a pivotal leadership role reporting directly to the Board. This appointment comes at a strategically significant time for the business. Following a period of impressive and sustained growth, including several high profile new client mandates and expanded commercial asset responsibilities, the firm is evolving its facilities management strategy to support both scale and service excellence.
This is a unique opportunity to shape and lead the facilities management strategy for a high-profile portfolio, acting as the principal liaison with an outsourced FM partner and evaluating future insourcing models to support operational resilience and long-term risk reduction.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and optimise the relationship with the firm’s FM delivery partner, aligning on performance, culture, and long-term objectives
- Report directly to the Board on service performance, innovation, market trends, and strategic direction
- Provide expert input on potential insourcing of FM services, supporting risk mitigation and cost-effectiveness
- Drive KPI delivery, compliance, and operational excellence across the FM function
- Attend key client meetings to ensure FM strategy aligns with service expectations
- Oversee health & safety and ESG compliance across the portfolio
- Partner with finance leadership to ensure full recovery of FM costs and budgetary control
- Promote and support revenue-generating consultancy services within the FM remit
- Significant experience in facilities or property management in the Commercial sector
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Strategic and analytical mindset with a proven track record in operational leadership
- Deep understanding of FM compliance, health & safety legislation, and ESG standards
- Demonstrated success managing outsourced FM providers and/or transitioning to in-house models
- Professional, diplomatic, and highly effective at Board and stakeholder level
- Salary: £90,000 - £120,000 plus bonus and package
