Role Overview:

What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing, building, and maintaining reliable, secure infrastructure and core platforms
- Taking solutions from proof-of-concept through to production-ready deployments
- Leading on the development and improvement of monitoring, alerting, and management systems
- Embedding automation and DevOps best practices across environments
- Collaborating with engineers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver robust solutions
- Driving platform optimisation, performance tuning, and system reliability
- Carrying out security assessments, vulnerability checks, and system hardening
- Building and maintaining automation tooling using modern frameworks
- Troubleshooting complex issues across Linux, containers, and cloud environments
- Producing high-quality documentation and ensuring knowledge sharing across teams
- Mentoring team members and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Main Skills Needed:
- Strong experience with Linux administration (e.g. Ubuntu) and Windows environments
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar)
- Hands-on experience with DevOps and automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD, Git)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or similar
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management
- Understanding of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Splunk, Nagios)
- Solid grasp of security principles and system hardening practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across multiple projects
- Awareness of Agile methodologies and DevOps culture
- Experience mentoring or leading engineers within a technical environment
