We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Systems Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering advanced maritime and defence technology solutions. The organisation specialises in the design and development of cutting-edge sonar and anti-submarine warfare systems used in naval operations worldwide. Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of systems engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to in-service support
- Assist with requirements capture, analysis, and management activities
- Contribute to system design, integration, verification, and validation processes
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and systems engineering artefacts
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including software, hardware, and mechanical engineering
- Support system testing to ensure performance, compliance, and operational effectiveness
- Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, and engineering discussions
- Assist in identifying and resolving technical issues throughout project delivery
Key Requirements
- 2-3 years' experience within a Systems Engineering or related engineering role
- Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and methodologies such as the V-Model
- Experience using requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or similar
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline
Desirable Skills
- Experience working within defence, maritime, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries
- Knowledge of systems integration and verification activities
- Familiarity with modelling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or SysML
- Understanding of configuration management and change control processes
