We are supporting an innovative engineering company developing next-generation autonomous and ruggedised hardware systems for demanding operating environments. This is a hands-on role focused on taking products from concept through to deployment, working across advanced mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and validation within a highly capable multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of robust mechanical systems and assemblies
- Develop products from concept through prototyping, testing, validation, and production
- Drive material selection, sealing strategies, structural integrity, and environmental durability
- Conduct and support environmental and reliability testing activities
- Work closely with electrical, software, systems, and integration engineers
- Support continuous improvement in design, manufacturability, and product performance
- Contribute to engineering standards, technical decision-making, and product architecture
- Participate in occasional field trials and product evaluation activities
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
- Proven experience developing complex electromechanical products or ruggedised hardware systems
- Strong 3D CAD capability (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or similar)
- Experience taking products from concept through to manufacture and deployment
- Good understanding of DfMA, reliability, and practical engineering constraints
- Hands-on prototype development and testing experience
- Comfortable operating within fast-paced multidisciplinary engineering environments
