Are you a hands-on facilities professional with a passion for operational excellence in a manufacturing environment? Our client, a globally recognised brand within the premium FMCG space, is looking for a Facilities Manager to take ownership of site operations across their busy manufacturing location in Essex.
The Company
Our client is part of a globally renowned group, home to some of the UK’s most iconic confectionery brands. With a rich heritage and a forward-thinking mindset, the business combines tradition with innovation to deliver high-quality products enjoyed by millions. This particular site plays a key role in the company’s UK manufacturing operations, with a dedicated team focused on continuous improvement, safety, and sustainability.
The Role
This is a newly created role, responsible for the management of 12 on-site buildings – including manufacturing, warehouse, and office facilities. You’ll be the go-to person for all things facilities, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient environments that support production and business continuity. You’ll manage vendor relationships, oversee lease agreements, drive safety and compliance efforts, and help plan for the future of the site’s physical footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily maintenance and operations across multiple buildings on-site
- Lead on Health & Safety compliance in partnership with the H&S Manager
- Coordinate vendor and contractor relationships for maintenance and equipment
- Review and manage lease agreements, including handback processes when leases end
- Support emergency planning, space optimisation, and facilities reporting
- Provide clear updates and insights to the Plant Manager and wider operations team
- Collaborate cross-functionally to reduce downtime and maintain site standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Facilities Management experience, ideally in a manufacturing, industrial, or logistics environment
- Understanding of building compliance, H&S, and lease management
- Experience working with external contractors and service providers
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Facilities Management or Safety Compliance certifications are a plus
- Ability to work independently, with high levels of ownership and accountability
- Strong organisation and reporting skills
