We have top-tier energy clients globally and our product team plays a key role in developing the software to support and address the complex business challenges faced by energy market players.Our headquarters is in the heart of Silicon Valley, with offices in Paris, London, New York, San Mateo, and Singapore.About the PositionOrchestrade is looking for a new member to join our Energy & Commodity Business Analyst team.The team continually extends our leading trading, risk, and operations solutions to cover new business cases and traded products & instruments in energy trading across the oil, gas, power, certificates, and metals markets. The team leverages its expertise on commodity and energy derivatives products across the full front-to-back chain: support, maintenance, evolution, and implementation of the commodity and energy framework for our clients.The role involves participating in business case studies as well as client implementation, writing functional and technical specifications, testing and validating developments. The BA team demonstrates a deep understanding of the key aspects of the business, along with a detailed knowledge of the underlying technical design concepts of the system, allowing for tight collaboration with the development team.Job Summary:The Business Analyst will support the growth of Orchestrade through research, development validation and direct interaction with clients.Duties/Responsibilities:Partner with clients to capture, review and analyze business requirementsDesign, plan and draft functional developments specifications that deliver scalable and fast time-to-market solutions solving real world business problemsMaintain and enhance the energy product framework in the systemProvide training to clients and internal teams when neededWrite functional and technical specifications aimed at our development teamTest and validation of new developmentsEnsure the highest software quality is provided for our clientsRequirements:MS degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or other related fieldsResults-oriented, analytical approach with strong entrepreneurial problem-solving skillsExperience and understanding an object-oriented programming code (C#) – the ability to read and understand functional code is mandatory. Previous work experience as a developer is a big plusEnergetic, collaborative, and seeking to make a positive impact on the companyEntrepreneurial approach and ability to work alone or in teams with minimal supervisionExcellent time management and organization skills with a keen eye for detailGood communication and presentation skills for client meetings5+ years’ experience working within technology (trading systems) or in the energy space (on software vendor or client side) is a must-haveProven expertise in one of the following areas is a must-have: simple or complex derivatives (exchange-traded or OTC), market data management, pricing and risk methodologies, middle and back-office processes, electronic trading interfaces
