Let’s Talk.Along with a competitive salary between £53,711 – £73,451 (depending on experience) we also offer great benefits such as;Enrolment into our pension scheme25 days holiday plus bank holidaysHybrid working (office or site-based 4 days/week, 1-day WFH)Excellent opportunities for career growthTechnical incentive schemeKey ResponsibilitiesThe design of electrical distribution substations from 11kV up to 132kVDesign of substations across full project life cycle, from feasibility studies to detailed construction designsUndertake the role of ‘Designer’ under the CDM regulations and production of a designer’s risk assessment for each projectVisit substations to establish the existing site layout, produce as-built drawings, assess project requirements, and then produce detailed design drawings for all aspects from 11kV switch rooms up to 132kV compound layoutsKey Competencies Engineering knowledge of substation design and construction.Knowledge of Standards associated with EHV substation design up to 132kVKnowledge of engineering standards associated with EHV substation plant.Ability to manage and prioritise work to ensure project timescales are metThe necessary background experience and technical knowledge to attain Competent Person status as defined in the Company’s Distribution Safety Rules to facilitate personal access to the Company’s operational sitesQualifications & AttributesAt least an HNC level qualification within a relevant subject or equivalent experienceA full and valid driving licence is essentialKnowledge of EHV power systems, safety procedures and engineering requirementsKnowledge of civil engineering aspects of substation constructionProficient with CAD drawing software Bentley MicroStation or AutoCADClick here to apply todayVisit northernpowergrid.com/careers to find out more about this and other career opportunities.
