Do you have a background in EDS 3D CAD Engineering? Expleo are seeking a highly organised and proactive EDS 3D CAD Engineer, who will be responsible for the inception, development and release of 3D Harness design and packaging across a broad range of prototype projects. This role is supporting our client, a luxury car manufacturer, based in the West Midlands, on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create 3D CAD for LV and HV Harnesses (CATIA V6) Electrical and Electronic installations
  • Design and package EDS, Wire Harnesses and associated components
  • Prepare documentation for internal and customer use for electrical installations
  • Support harness design reviews, prototype builds and test boards for EDS system issues
  • Take responsibility to ensure harness design meets customer design requirements
  • Lead prototype builds and provide engineering support for vehicle/system commissioning, faultfinding and diagnosis
  • Support virtual build events and packaging activities

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Degree or similar in an Electrical Engineering discipline
  • Automotive background
  • Good knowledge of Electric and Hybrid vehicle technologies, including HV batteries, contactors and fuses
  • Previous proven experience with designing/draughting of Harnesses
  • Excellent knowledge of harness assembly processes
  • System design from concept to delivery, with a good understanding of electrical design requirements
  • Experience in automotive electrical systems design and prototype development
  • Skilled in HV and LV EDS development – 3D Wiring harness routing
  • Experience of electrical system Capital software
