This is an important and varied role in a busy, small natural product factory.Bedmax Shavings is a small family run company, the first in the UK to make made-to-measure, high-quality shavings especially for horse bedding. The company was founded, and is still based near Belford, in Northumberland, with dedicated manufacturing plants in Nottinghamshire and Hampshire. We are currently recruiting for a Development and Maintenance Engineer for our manufacturing plant near Caunton, Newark. This is a vital role that works closely with the Factory Manager.The role involves:Supporting operations in a professional manner.Providing Total Plant Maintenance and help other staff to do the same.Responding to equipment breakdowns to ensure the Factory’s downtime is kept to a minimum.Ensuring spare part stock is kept up to date.Analysing data to identify areas of improvement.Providing management with advice on any potential performance improvements.Problem solving to always find the Root Cause of all problems as quickly as possible.Working safely and complying with legislation.Undertaking additional training if need be to maximise your potential.The ideal candidate will:Have a practical and mechanical ability to solve production related issues, refine processes where possible and apply continuous improvement principles in relation to the manufacturing process.Be a competent welder fabricator.Some electrical experience would be an advantage.Have fitting and fault finding skills and be able to manage spare part stocks and ordering.Have a good standard of written and spoken English, be numerate and highly responsible in your attitude.Be self motivated, conscientious, enthusiastic and curious.The role of Development and Maintenance Engineer offers a great deal of variety and is an exciting opportunity in a progressive business for the right candidate.Driving license essentialJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per yearBenefits:Company eventsCompany pensionCycle to work schemeEmployee discountOn-site parkingSchedule:8 hour shiftWeekend work will be required and call outs when necessary.
