A leading civils and groundworks contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Engineer to support delivery across multiple residential groundworks schemes in and around Derby. This is a key role within a well-established business known for delivering high-quality infrastructure and groundwork packages for major housebuilders.

The Role

You will take a senior position on site, responsible for overseeing engineering activities, managing junior engineers, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting out for roads, sewers, drainage, and foundations
  • Overseeing and mentoring Site Engineers and Junior Engineers
  • Managing QA processes, including inspections and documentation
  • Coordinating with Site Managers and subcontractors
  • Ensuring works are delivered in line with design drawings and specifications
  • Supporting programme delivery and resolving technical issues on site

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Engineer within residential groundworks
  • Strong setting out skills (GPS/Total Station)
  • Excellent knowledge of roads, drainage, and housing infrastructure
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and teams
  • CSCS card (essential)
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
