Join a growing Data Science & Machine Learning team working on some of the most ambitious and mission-critical programmes in the Defence & Security sector. Key Responsibilities

  • Apply data science, machine learning, and AI techniques to solve complex, real-world problems
  • Research, design, and implement innovative models and solutions
  • Work across the full ML lifecycle from requirements gathering and prototyping to deployment and live service support
  • Deliver high-quality, scalable solutions with measurable impact
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in agile environments
  • Contribute to new ideas, propositions, and project delivery
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and communicate insights effectively

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience applying data science or machine learning in Defence, Security, public sector, or academia
  • Strong understanding of machine learning models (e.g. Transformers, CNNs, Generative AI) and their practical applications
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly
  • Experience working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Track record of contributing to project delivery, innovation, or capability development

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with text, audio, image, or video data
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong Python skills and experience with ML libraries and frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Knowledge of statistics and probability
  • Experience with ML lifecycle tools (e.g. MLflow, Kubeflow, Argo)
  • Understanding of Ethical and Responsible AI principles

Security Requirements

You must hold active UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
