This Quantity Surveyor role supports the central region, working alongside the operations team to manage commercial aspects of projects from tender handover through to completion. You will provide commercial input to Project Managers and Engineers, ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual and financial expectations. The role involves working across multiple projects while supporting overall regional commercial performance. You will also be involved in client interactions and internal coordination, helping ensure commercial processes are followed correctly.

The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Support management of commercial aspects across multiple projects
  • Provide commercial advice to Project Managers and Engineers
  • Assess and agree cost of variations
  • Prepare financial progress and final account reports
  • Monitor and control project costs
  • Draft and review compensation events
  • Manage change accounts on larger projects
  • Support payment applications and certification processes
  • Liaise with clients and attend meetings
  • Identify and manage commercial risks
  • Support subcontractor allocation and cost control
  • Maintain project records and documentation
  • Attend meetings and take minutes where required

Experience required for this role are:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Understanding of NEC contracts
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise workload
  • Full clean driving licence

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this role are:

  • Membership of RICS, CIOB or ICES or working towards
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and ground investigations
  • Proficiency in NEC3 or NEC4
