The ideal candidate is energised by the start-up ecosystem and thrives on building meaningful relationships with ambitious founders. You’re a natural connector who enjoys fast-paced environments, identifying game-changing ideas, and helping them come to life. You value autonomy, take pride in delivering results, and enjoy blending commercial strategy with mentorship.

You are always tuned into the pulse of the tech start-up scene, ready to represent Hyper at events, meetups, and within founder communities. You believe in the power of relationships and are motivated by seeing new ventures grow—from raw ideas to investor-ready propositions.

As a Commercial Strategist at Hyper, you will:

  • Discover and onboard exceptional founders into Hyper’s Accelerate programme.
  • Build long-lasting relationships with founders, acting as their first point of contact and commercial guide.
  • Actively engage in London’s start-up ecosystem—attending events, sourcing founder talent, and building your personal brand.
  • Collaborate closely with Hyper’s product managers, designers, and strategists to ensure founders are supported throughout the Accelerate process.
  • Drive strategic growth by identifying new business development opportunities and partnerships.
  • Promote Hyper’s mission through events, digital content, and active industry engagement.
  • Help shape the future of the UK start-up landscape—one founder at a time.

This is a rare opportunity to engage with the next wave of world-changing ideas, support early-stage founders, and make a tangible impact on the trajectory of UK tech start-ups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy & Execution – Manage and convert warm inbound leads, book qualified meetings, and clearly communicate Hyper’s value proposition.
  • Ecosystem Engagement – Build a strong network across the UK start-up space through events, partnerships, and digital presence.
  • Founder Mentorship & Support – Guide founders through the early stages of their journey, offering support and insight into product development, go-to-market strategy, and fundraising.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration – Partner with Hyper’s product, design, and strategy teams to ensure founders receive the support they need at every step.
  • Brand Building – Establish yourself as a trusted voice in the start-up space, representing Hyper across community events, online platforms, and thought leadership channels.
  • Commercial Innovation – Identify and explore new channels and methods to attract high-quality founders and drive programme growth.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Start-up Mindset – Deep passion for innovation and the start-up ecosystem; ideally with hands-on experience in early-stage ventures.
  • Business Development Background – 1–2 years in business development, founder-facing sales, or recruitment.
  • Excellent Communication – Strong written and verbal skills; able to inspire trust and convey complex concepts clearly and simply.
  • Self-Starter – Proactive, independent, and motivated by outcomes; able to manage your time and pipeline effectively.
  • Ecosystem Involvement – Well-connected or highly engaged within the local tech and start-up scene.
  • Mentoring Skills – Comfortable providing founders with high-level guidance and commercial insight.
  • Event & Community Engagement – Willing and excited to attend, support, or host start-up events and workshops across the ecosystem.

And let’s not forget the important part, what’s in it for you:

  • Connect with incredible founders, ideas, and technologies before they hit the market
  • Grow your commercial and strategic skills—continuous learning is built into the role
  • Make a direct impact—help shape the future of UK start-ups
