HCL is seeking a seasoned Cloud Architect with deep expertise in the telecom sector, vector search technologies, and intelligent agent systems. This role involves architecting large-scale, cloud-native solutions for telecommunications clients, integrating cutting-edge search systems and AI-driven agent workflows on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of scalable cloud-native platforms for telecom operators using GCP services.
- Design and implement solutions using vector search (e.g., ScaNN, FAISS) to support intelligent retrieval and personalization.
- Architect AI/ML-powered agent systems for customer support, network monitoring, and predictive maintenance.
- Engage directly with telecom clients to assess business and technical requirements and translate them into robust cloud solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure reliable deployment pipelines and AI integration.
- Lead workshops, architecture reviews, and governance assessments with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ensure security, compliance, and high availability for mission-critical telecom applications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture / solution engineering, with at least 3 years in the telecommunications domain.
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with at least 2+ years specifically focused on Generative AI (LLMs, diffusion models, etc.).
- Hands-on expertise in vector similarity search systems such as ScaNN, FAISS, Pinecone, or Vespa.
- Experience designing intelligent agent frameworks using tools like Dialogflow, LangChain, or custom orchestration pipelines.
- Solid understanding of telecom OSS/BSS systems, 5G architecture, and network data processing.
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) AI/ML services, especially Vertex AI (Workbench, Training, Prediction, Pipelines, Feature Store).
- Proficiency in Python and strong experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX, Hugging Face Transformers).
- Experience with data engineering and building robust data pipelines for AI/ML workloads on GCP (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow).
- Solid understanding of core AI/ML concepts, including deep learning, neural networks, NLP, and machine learning algorithms.
- Familiarity with MLOps principles and tools for deploying, managing, and monitoring ML models in production.
- Strong experience designing and deploying GCP-based solutions, including use of Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow, and GKE.
- Fluency in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Deployment Manager, or equivalent.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a passion for building innovative and impactful AI solutions.
- Google Professional Cloud Architect.

- Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer or equivalent certification.
- Experience with cloud migration and modernization projects in the telecom industry.
