Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil & Structural Engineer to join a leading Energy Transition team, supporting the design and delivery of innovative, low-carbon infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to work on next-generation and first-of-a-kind energy technologies, contributing to projects that span the full asset lifecycle—from concept development through to detailed design, construction, commissioning, and operation. You will play a key role in delivering practical, efficient and cost-effective structural engineering solutions within a multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop civil and structural engineering solutions across feasibility, concept, FEED, value engineering, and detailed design stages
  • Produce key engineering deliverables including:
    • Structural 3D models
    • Design calculations and technical reports
    • General arrangement (GA) drawings
    • Pipe support designs
    • Foundation designs and RC detailing
  • Support development of integrated 3D plant models and layouts
  • Work closely with equipment vendors to develop and refine package designs
  • Participate in technical evaluations and design reviews
  • Contribute to proposals, bids, and multidisciplinary tender submissions
  • Provide support across project lifecycle stages, including potential site involvement during construction and commissioning

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status with a recognised professional institution
  • Strong experience in civil and structural detailed design within energy or industrial sectors
  • Solid understanding of national and international design codes and standards
  • Strong knowledge of the engineering design process, including scope development and calculation production
  • Proficiency in structural and CAD design tools, including:
    • Autodesk Revit
    • AutoCAD
    • Tekla
    • Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis (or STAAD Pro)
    • Civil 3D (desirable)
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams and contributing to integrated design models
  • Strong communication skills with experience engaging clients, contractors, and vendors

Project Scope

Projects will support the Energy Transition and low-carbon infrastructure sector, including:

  • First-of-a-kind energy technologies
  • Low-carbon and zero-carbon energy systems
  • Industrial and process plant infrastructure
  • Multi-disciplinary energy developments across UK and international markets

You will be working alongside developers, utilities, government bodies, EPC contractors, OEMs, and financial stakeholders.
