Business Ops Lead /Chief of Staff – High-Growth Consumer Tech SaaS (Series A)To £125k + EquityE1, London | 4 days a week on-site*Must have worked for/in a start-up in an operational capacity to be considered for this role*A fast-scaling Consumer Tech SaaS company is searching for its first Operations Lead, a foundational hire to help transition the business from early-stage startup to structured scale-up.Backed by a recent $22M Series A, this company is on a mission to redefine how young people learn through gamification and social features, globally. Now 10 people strong, the company has a clear trajectory to reach 40+ employees within 12–18 months, and needs an analytical, execution-oriented Ops Lead to build and run key business functions, including finance, people, legal, compliance, and investor relations (some of these functions are/can be outsourced). The role reports directly to the CEO and works alongside product, engineering, and design leads.ResponsibilitiesStrategic Operations: Lead business reviews, tracking progress against KPIs and identifying blockers.Finance & Investor Relations: Own financial reporting, modelling, budgeting, and support ongoing investor comms.People & Talent Ops: Build lightweight, scalable people systems and processes; oversee hiring and help maintain a strong, focused culture.Business Operations: Establish operational processes that enable speed, quality, and accountability.Legal & Compliance: Oversee corporate governance, regulatory risk, and manage third-party legal/accounting firms.Ideal CandidateStrong academic background (Russell Group preferred) in Economics, Maths, Engineering, or Computer Science.Highly quantitative, with experience in business/financial analysis and making data-driven operational decisions.Previous experience in a high-growth startup (ideally post-Series A) is requiredBackground in strategy consulting or investment banking, plus exposure to startup environments will be consideredTrack record of scaling headcount and building company infrastructure.Strong communicator, able to work across commercial and technical teams.Comfortable managing third-party providers and growing an internal ops function (e.g. hiring HR).Nice to HaveConsumer tech or subscription-based platform experience.Exposure to EdTech, gamification, or learning products.Experience building operational foundations in fast-moving, high-growth businesses.With full autonomy to build out your team and shape core operations from day one, this is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact at a high-growth startup backed by top-tier VCs.
