ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client is a globally recognised aerospace engineering organisation supporting some of the world's most advanced aircraft programmes. Their Technical Data teams play a critical role in delivering accurate maintenance documentation and supporting airline customers throughout the operational lifecycle of the aircraft. Due to continued programme demand, they are now looking for an experienced Technical Data Engineer to support Landing Gear Systems documentation activities.

THE TECHNICAL WRITER ROLE:

As a Technical Data Engineer, you will manage authoring activities relating to Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM) and Trouble Shooting Manuals (TSM) for Landing Gear Systems. You will analyse design modifications, drawings, and engineering inputs to ensure maintenance documentation accurately reflects aircraft configurations and operational requirements. You will support airline customers with technical queries, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and coordinate with design offices and subcontractors to ensure documentation is delivered to quality, cost, and schedule requirements. This role also involves supporting in-service aircraft issues and maintaining compliance with safety and technical data standards.

TECHNICAL WRITER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Aerospace engineering or aircraft maintenance background
  • Experience with AMM and/or TSM technical documentation
  • Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance systems and procedures
  • Aircraft technical authoring experience
  • Experience analysing engineering drawings and design modifications
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload priorities
  • Hands-on aircraft maintenance experience (RAF or similar) highly beneficial
  • Landing Gear or CMM (Component Maintenance Manual) experience advantageous
