We're hiring a Product Design Engineer in Bridgend for a hands-on sports and consumer products business, paying £35,000 to £40,000, with on-site prototyping, international supplier travel and a busy roadmap of new products to deliver.

Scope of the Role

As Product Design Engineer, you'll take physical products from early feasibility through to mass manufacture. This is a delivery-focused role across CAD, prototyping, DFM, tooling and supplier liaison.

  • Develop detailed CAD using SOLIDWORKS across multiple live product development projects.
  • Design plastic parts for tooling, moulding, assembly and cost-effective manufacture.
  • Build, test and iterate prototypes using on-site facilities in Bridgend.
  • Liaise with tooling suppliers in China and manufacturing partners in Kenya.
  • Own three to four concurrent projects across accessories, lighting, cases and product variants.

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Product Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or Design Engineer delivering physical products.
  • Strong SOLIDWORKS skills, or high proficiency in Creo, NX or Inventor.
  • Plastic injection moulding experience, including DFM, tooling reviews and production sign-off.
  • Comfortable owning detailed design work with limited hand-holding.
  • Able to work on-site in Bridgend, with willingness to travel internationally.
