About the Role
We are recruiting a Specialty Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry to support a client's growing Community ADHD Service. Working alongside an experienced consultant specialist team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the assessment, monitoring, and ongoing management of patients with ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders within a community-based service. This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor with an interest in neurodevelopmental psychiatry looking to further develop specialist expertise within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ADHD and neurodevelopmental assessments, reviews, and follow-up clinics
- Support medication titration, monitoring, and prescribing management
- Review investigation results including ECGs and blood tests
- Provide clinical advice and support via the ADHD telephone query service
- Work collaboratively with GPs, specialist nurses, and wider MDT teams
- Support clinical governance, audit, and service development activities
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using SystmOne and associated systems
- Contribute to education and support for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Minimum 2 years' psychiatry experience
- Strong general adult psychiatry knowledge
- Interest in ADHD and neurodevelopmental disorders
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills
- Ability to work independently and flexibly across services
- Computer literacy and understanding of clinical systems
Desirable
- Previous ADHD or neurodevelopmental service experience
- Experience delivering education or training
- Experience within community mental health services
- Full UK driving licence
