Our client is a UK startup building a low-code modelling platform designed to replace spreadsheet-driven workflows for SMEs. Founded by the entrepreneur behind one of the world's most influential enterprise planning platforms (acquired for ~$8bn), the mission is to bring that same power to businesses that have been underserved by tooling for too long. Pre-commercial launch. Greenfield infrastructure. Real stakes.

The technical challenge

You'll be building and owning the production infrastructure for a multi-user distributed system from the ground up. That means designing for debuggability and observability from day one, not bolting it on later. Core remit includes scalable multi-environment Terraform, secrets management, gradual deployment practices (blue/green), and the ability to spin up full environment copies for testing. An AI/multi-agent infrastructure component is on the near-term roadmap.

The stack

  • IaC: Terraform + Terragrunt
  • Helm / Kubernetes
  • AWS
  • Observability: Prometheus / Grafana
  • Auth0
  • Rust / Golang
  • NoSQL

What they're looking for

  • Production experience with Terraform, Helm/Kubernetes, AWS networking, and debugging multi-service systems
  • Observability tooling, secrets management, and authentication services in real production environments
  • Comfortable operating in a distributed, multi-user system with a strong sense of end-to-end ownership
  • Rust familiarity is a bonus, backend services are written in it and there's scope to contribute at that layer

Engineering culture

This is a team that treats design decisions as seriously as code; options are documented, tradeoffs are considered at codebase level, and mature judgment is valued over ticket throughput. Engineers own problems end-to-end and communicate proactively.
