About the Role
We are recruiting a compassionate and proactive Healthcare Assistant to join the clinical teams within Birmingham. This role supports the smooth running of outpatient clinics and procedures across a variety of specialties, helping deliver high-quality patient care within community and clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support consultants and clinical teams during outpatient clinics and procedures
- Carry out basic clinical observations including:
- Blood pressure
- Height and weight
- Urinalysis
- ECGs
- Wound care and dressings
- Assist with minor surgery, gynaecology, urology, neurology, respiratory, and general surgery clinics
- Chaperone patients and maintain dignity and confidentiality
- Prepare and clean clinical rooms and equipment between appointments
- Support stock management, infection control, and clinical audits
- Assist with reception and administrative duties where required
- Travel between clinic sites and participate in weekend working on a rota basis
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar Healthcare Assistant role
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Patient-centred and professional approach
Desirable
- Phlebotomy experience
- Previous outpatient or hospital experience
- Experience supporting clinical procedures and consultant-led clinics
