Bridge (AutoCAD) Engineering TechnicianAbout the roleAs an experienced bridge engineering technician, you will play a key part in the successful delivery of our bridge and multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across our UK and Ireland offices and be supported by a team of highly skilled professionals.Main duties and responsibilitiesProducing accurate engineering models, drawings and detailing for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and related civil structuresPreparing both concept and detailed design drawingsActing as project technician on multidisciplinary schemesReviewing steel fabrication and shop drawingsEnsuring the timely delivery of high-quality engineering outputsProviding technical guidance and mentoring to junior team membersRecent and ongoing projectsMy clients portfolio demonstrates both the scale and diversity of our work. Examples include the delivery of a £117 million riverside bridge as part of a major regeneration scheme, a £121 million dual-carriageway lifting bridge to improve regional connectivity, major structural maintenance works on a nationally significant suspension bridge, the refurbishment of a listed river crossing with a budget of around £5 million, a €102 million cross-border bridge to strengthen transport links, and a €207 million urban public infrastructure programme in Ireland.Essential requirementsHNC (or equivalent) in civil engineering and/or EngTech or IEng accreditation with ICE or IStructEAt least 4+ years experience in drafting and modelling bridges and civil structuresStrong proficiency in AutoCAD, CADS-RC and steel detailing softwareExcellent command of written and spoken EnglishHighly motivated, adaptable and detail focusedAbility to work effectively under pressure and deliver to tight deadlinesStrong teamwork ethic and willingness to take responsibilityDesirable3D modelling experience using AutoCAD or other softwareFamiliarity with Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks or similar design toolsIf you’re interested in this role, click “Apply” to submit your application.
