We’re looking for an Audio-Visual Business Development Manager who will drive growth across key sectors such as commercial offices, co-working spaces, life sciences, and hospitality. You will lead the full sales cycle by identifying new opportunities, shaping tailored AV and smart technology solutions, and acting as a trusted advisor to clients. Working closely with our design, engineering, and delivery teams, you will ensure solutions are innovative, scalable, and commercially sound. Your consultative approach combined with strong market insight will support new revenue generation and reinforce our position as a leading AV and smart building solutions provider.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy and Business Development
    • Lead the Audio-Visual sales strategy, identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities across defined market sectors in line with commercial growth targets.
    • Develop and implement structured sales plans that support wider business objectives and long-term revenue generation.
    • Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and consistent achievement of revenue and margin goals.
    • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform positioning, refine go-to-market strategies, and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Act as a trusted advisor throughout the client engagement lifecycle, offering expert guidance and positioning tailored AV solutions that meet specific business needs.
    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
    • Present AV solutions clearly and confidently, demonstrating both technical capability and commercial value within client-facing meetings.
    • Lead client engagements from initial contact through to contract negotiation, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and business outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Project Support
    • Collaborate closely with internal AV and Smart Building specialists to support the design, delivery, and assurance of Audio-Visual packages within integrated project scopes.
    • Support multi-disciplinary tender submissions by working in partnership with Technical Services Managers to prepare detailed bids, proposals, and commercial documentation.
    • Act as the principal point of contact for all AV-related matters within the sales cycle, offering technical insight, advising on solution architecture, and contributing to detailed client discussions.
    • Ensure seamless handover from sales to project delivery teams, maintaining clear communication channels.
    • Promote a culture of quality, innovation, and customer focus across all engagements, ensuring all work reflects the highest standards of delivery, precision, and professionalism.
  • Market and Industry Engagement
    • Maintain a strong presence within the AV and Smart Buildings industry by attending relevant networking events, site visits, and trade shows to foster relationships and remain informed of market trends.
    • Manage engagement with technology partners and suppliers, ensuring solutions remain commercially aligned and technically appropriate for client requirements and evolving market expectations.
    • Stay abreast of technological advancements, emerging trends, and industry best practices within AV and smart technologies.
  • Performance and Reporting
    • Take ownership of sales performance by setting and achieving defined revenue, margin, and expense targets, while consistently meeting or exceeding key performance indicators.
    • Set and monitor sales targets, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Prepare regular sales reports, market analyses, and forecasts for senior management.
    • Identify areas for improvement in sales processes and contribute to the development of best practices.

Knowledge, skills, and behaviours:

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in Audio Visual technology, systems integration, AV commissioning, or related fields such as electronics or IT engineering.

Experience

  • Proven track record of success in Audio Visual and smart technology sales, with extensive experience in managing key client accounts and consistently delivering strong commercial results.
  • Comprehensive understanding of AV systems, IPTV, integrated IT/AV solutions, and Fibre integrated Reception Systems (FIRS), particularly within the evolving landscape of smart building environments.
  • Strong commercial understanding of AV control and signal distribution platforms such as Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS (QSC), Kramer, AMX, and Atlona, with the ability to position and sell solutions based on client needs and project requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of Software Defined Video over Ethernet (SDVoE) technologies (e.g., ZeeVee, Audinate), enabling effective communication of value propositions and integration benefits to clients.
  • Sales experience with DSP and audio platforms including Biamp, Bose, and Yamaha, with the ability to present solutions for meeting spaces, multi-zone audio, and integrated sound systems.
  • Fluency in video conferencing and collaboration technologies, including Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco Webex, and Poly/HP, with the ability to align these with workplace transformation and hybrid working strategies.
  • Familiarity with media distribution, IPTV, and digital signage platforms such as Tripleplay, Exterity (VITEC), BrightSign, and Datapath, with the ability to identify commercial applications in sectors like hospitality, corporate environments, and education.
  • Demonstrated experience selling video conferencing solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Ring central etc.).
  • Experienced in engaging with clients across a variety of sectors, including property development, interior fitouts, commercial real estate, and the hospitality industry, ensuring tailored solutions that meet specific project requirements.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies in the AV sector, including artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, cloud-based AV management platforms, and advanced display technologies, underpinned by a commitment to continuous professional development and industry best practices.
