You will be involved in planning and overseeing the delivery of a range of projects in accordance with current legislation and best practice guidance.You will provide high quality, objective freshwater ecology advice and practical land management to clients.Manage projects effectively, meet deadlines and budgets for project within fish passes, development, river and habitat restoration, energy & infrastructure projects.Also support the general workload of the wider ecology team, where appropriate.Occasional out of hours work with the associated surveys and working away from home for short periods depending on the survey location.A generous TOIL policy is in operation!Key ResponsibilitiesLead on the design and execution of freshwater ecology surveysLead fieldwork for yourself and other as well as the management of resources requiredData analysis, management and production of outputs as required.Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) management for jobs to deliver onsite freshwater ecology/ ecological auditingProject Management with responsibility for maintaining key performance indicators.Advise on survey requirements, mitigation, enhancement and management to internal and external clients with support from the senior team.Pursue quotes and discounts from suppliers.Project forecasting for invoicing and resourcing.Produce, and oversee the production of, technical reports and other bespoke documents.Provide specific support relative to your own discipline to the other teams.Essential ExperienceExperienced in undertaking fish habitat assessmentsYou will hold a relevant degree in ecology, environmental science of related disciplineFull or Associate Member of CIEEM or another relevant organisationA full, clean, UK driving licenceTeam Lead electrofishing qualificationExperience in planning, co-ordinating and leading freshwater projectsReport writing, data management and data analysisCommercial awareness from experience in consultancyWork well in a team within a fast-paced environmentDesirable ExperienceFreshwater pearl mussel licence holderExperience in surveying for additional freshwater species including otter, water vole and beaverExperience of freshwater macro-invertebrate samplingMapping skillsWhat\’s in it for you?Salary up to £48,000 depending on experience35 hours working weekAnnual salary reviewsSupport from a consultancy with over 20 years operating in the marketInvestment in your training and successFull project lifecycle work across a range of environmental disciplinesHybrid working 3 days in the office or onsite and 2 remoteEstablished benefits of working with a dynamic and growing organisation20 days annual leave plus 11 bank holidays, of which a proportion can be used flexibly and not on set bank holiday daysTraining allowance annually bespoke to you and your development needs internal and external resources.One Professional subscription paid for each yearCompany Pension contribution 5% with possible increase to 8%Flexible weekly working hours promoting work-life balance 35 hours p/wFull time / Part time consideredVolunteer days for community projectsNominated charity eventsGroup income protectionCycle to work great rates on new bikesYear round Health & Wellbeing Employee Assistance Program and Occupational Health, GP Service.Whats next?APPLY NOW if you\’re interested in the position, company or just to kmow a bit more.CleanTech Talent are acting as an approved hiring agency for this position.
