Anaesthetist RegistrarFull time PermanentLocation: PlymouthOur client is one of the UK’s largest independent sector healthcare providers, and they provide a range of innovative and expert healthcare services to the NHS, privately paid and insurance patients. With their own network of private hospitals nationwide and expert clinicians and surgeons within, they are now seeking Anaesthetist Registrars to work in their 30 bed, one ward hospital in Plymouth.All surgery is elective and planned well in advance, so the hospital is a calm, professional, excellently maintained and presented healthcare setting. Rated CQC Good, patient safety is paramount. They are award-winning and recognised for providing the highest level of quality, specialist secondary healthcare and excellent patient outcomes. The surgical team is second to none at Plymouth.The role of Anaesthetist Registrar:Our client is seeking an Anaesthetist Registrar, who is ready to join a team of dedicated clinicians striving for excellence.You will be part of a state-of-the-art anaesthetic team delivering cutting edge anaesthetic techniques to allow patients to be discharged same day, safely.You will have pride in the quality of your work, be well-versed and involved in clinical governance, audit and be a good team player who is ready to be flexible and willing to meet the needs of the service and colleagues.Duties include: -Being involved in perioperative care, spending time in the pre-assessment clinic seeing patients before their surgery.You’ll be in theatre with them during their procedure, managing their anaesthetic and looking after them post operation.Checking the patient operating lists in advance of surgery to carry out any preparation.Pre-op planning, attending meetings with the Specialist Consultants and then discuss their cases with our consultants, and planning what sort of anaesthetic is most appropriate for them.Undertaking theatre briefing meetings with the whole theatre team to discuss the surgical and anaesthetic plan for each patient on the operating list.Administering anaesthetic, which is tailored to the patient and the type of surgery they’re having to include inserting catheters for additional monitoring and administering medications, fluids and general anaesthetics.Constantly monitoring patients and treating the effects of the anaesthetic drugs or the operation as necessary.Pain management; As part of anaesthetic care, we also manage a patient’s pain relief during and after their operation.As a salaried member of staff, our client will pay your medical insurance/indemnity in FULL. They’ll also give you the best work/life balance available through flexible working hours, either as a part time or Full time Anaesthetist Registrar and you can work extra 5th and 6th days if this is something you want to do, or not! If you want to study further, they will provide paid study too!
