You will have industry knowledge and develop strong client, airline and supplier relationships to ensure the highest level of service is delivered.Key ResponsibilitiesCreating and maintaining customer standard operating proceduresHaving a clear financial understanding of each job file(s) within your remitProviding accurate and timely reports to department managerHaving ownership and taking accountability to deliver operational excellenceEnsuring that a \'customer is king\' ethos is always applied in actions for the businessDelivering accurate and timely paperwork in relation to the creation and issuance of import documentationDemonstrating commercial acumen and an in depth understanding of the P&L of a jobFreighting and InvoicingCreating operational reports and ensuring that anomalies are escalated appropriatelyEstablishing and maintaining strong working relationships with suppliers, airlines & overseas partners/agentsEnsuring that Metros\' policies and procedures are adhered to Key Performance AreasResponse to clients is timely and accurateAccurate and Timely creation and issuance of deliveries and documentationAirline storage is never incurred for Metro’s account.Freighting / Rating accuracy and timing meets the company policiesPurchase Queries are responded to within the company policy time framesCosts and Sales are known, controlled and managedOperational Reports and followed and anomalies escalatedCountry specific requirements observed and appliedGeneral Skills Industry and operational knowledge of AirfreightAble to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlinesStrong numerical and commercial skillsExcellent attention to detailExcellent usage of computer / operating system (Microsoft Windows) along with other office applications (Microsoft Office) (Cargowise – preferable)Proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organisation skillsEnthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivatedWeekend overtime rota – one in four weekends you will work 4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday.
