Our client is one of the world's top hands-free video streaming technology companies with over 6500 staff globally across EMEA, NA, APAC, and the Middle East. They are growing rapidly with cutting-edge AR and VR technologies.
They are looking for a system engineer to support their hardware R&D and manufacturing divisions within the infrastructure environment:
- Linux system administration: installing, configuring, maintaining, and securing Linux-based servers and application deployment.
- Linux System Monitoring: reviewing logs (journalctl), monitoring system resources, security, and network configuration.
- L3/L4 technical support, infrastructure-related troubleshooting, and end-user hardware/software issues.
- Provisioning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems and related infrastructure and routine patching of physical and virtual server environments.
- Technical assessment of new technologies, documentation, and MES vendor management.
Main technical environment: Redhat Linux 9 (with some Windows server), VMware (8), SAN, storage, backup, scripting in Bash/Powershell/Python, manufacturing system configuration (such as Ignition).
Requirements:
- 5+ years of expertise in Redhat Linux system administration or engineering/RHEL.
- Experience in managing VMWare environments.
- Infrastructure Design: load balancing, auto-scaling, replication, and encryption protocols.
- Scripting: proficient in BASH, PowerShell, or Python for infrastructure automation.
- Any experience in MES/manufacturing systems/process engineering system or semiconductor or biotech or electronic components manufacturing industry is a plus.
Please note this role requires 5 days on site in Abingdon (OX14) where they have a manufacturing site and cleanroom. A cleanroom suit will be provided and must be used for safety reasons when you enter the cleanroom areas for any system-related work.
Initially 12 months full-time contract starting ASAP with the option to extend yearly afterwards. Contract is inside IR35, offering up to £475 per day. Monday to Friday standard business hours.
