Job Summary: We are seeking a Production Technologist Lead to join our Performance Center team in Aberdeen, UK. This role is critical providing technical expertise regarding analyzing, and optimizing oil and gas production enhancement and optimization solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including reservoir, digital and wells teams, to maximize production efficiency. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Act as the Production technical lead for the Performance Centre led engagements
- Interact directly with clients to identify the opportunities, define high-level scopes, value-added programs and frame the conceptual solution designs.
- Owning on the solution design, define and redefine technical proposals.
- Defining success criteria, participate in the briefing to delivery teams and oversights the solution implementation.
- Drive continuous improvement by proposing process enhancements and lessons learned.
The candidate should have experience across these key areas:
- Monitoring and analyzing well and production system performance to identify improvement opportunities.
- Diagnosing production losses, (i.e. skin, damage, water/gas breakthrough, scaling, and sanding)
- Defining completion and AL philosophies/concepts
- Concept and method selection for well interventions, workovers, recompletions, and plug & abandonment (P&A) activities.
- Production surveillance using pressure, temperature, rate data, well tests, PLTs, and digital surveillance systems.
- Identifying decline mechanisms, well integrity risks, and opportunities for intervention.
- Managing flow assurance and production chemistry risks (i.e. hydrates, wax, asphaltenes, scale, corrosion, emulsions, and foaming)
- Defining conceptual chemical strategies and injection philosophies
- Able to act as the interface with facilities and O&M to support debottlenecking initiatives.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in production engineering or production technology, with exposure to UK operators.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of production enhancement, well performance analysis, artificial lift systems, and well completion design.
- Experience in diagnosing and solving production losses and managing flow assurance risks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to our Europe offices for technical support.
Preferred Skills:
- Background in petroleum engineering or production engineering.
- Familiarity with SLB's production domain portfolio and workflows.
- Experience working with operators, or well management companies.
- Experience on mature field optimization.
