Are you a highly skilled social worker looking to take on a leadership role in a dynamic and supportive team? This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking service in Lewisham, where you'll help shape practice, mentor colleagues, and make a lasting impact on young people and families.

About the Role

As an Advanced Practitioner, you'll bring expert knowledge and experience to some of the most complex and high-risk cases. You'll support less experienced social workers through supervision, mentoring, and reflective practice, while also contributing to service development and quality improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a small caseload of complex cases
  • Supporting and supervising newly qualified and junior social workers
  • Leading reflective practice and promoting relationship-based approaches
  • Chairing strategy meetings and authorising key documents
  • Facilitating group supervision and practice development sessions
  • Acting as a specialist lead in areas such as domestic abuse or court work
  • Deputising for the Team Manager when required
  • Promoting inter-agency collaboration and best practice

What We’re Looking For

We're seeking a confident and compassionate leader who can inspire others and drive high standards of care.

You'll need:

  • A recognised social work qualification (Dip SW or equivalent)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • At least 3 years' post-qualifying experience in children's social care
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, permanence planning, and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, and team leadership skills
  • Ability to manage complex cases and support others in doing so
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice
