About the Role
As an Advanced Practitioner, you'll bring expert knowledge and experience to some of the most complex and high-risk cases. You'll support less experienced social workers through supervision, mentoring, and reflective practice, while also contributing to service development and quality improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a small caseload of complex cases
- Supporting and supervising newly qualified and junior social workers
- Leading reflective practice and promoting relationship-based approaches
- Chairing strategy meetings and authorising key documents
- Facilitating group supervision and practice development sessions
- Acting as a specialist lead in areas such as domestic abuse or court work
- Deputising for the Team Manager when required
- Promoting inter-agency collaboration and best practice
What We’re Looking For
We're seeking a confident and compassionate leader who can inspire others and drive high standards of care.
You'll need:
- A recognised social work qualification (Dip SW or equivalent)
- Registration with Social Work England
- At least 3 years' post-qualifying experience in children's social care
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, permanence planning, and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and team leadership skills
- Ability to manage complex cases and support others in doing so
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice
